After working for the Japanese government in Kagoshima, Japan, Ms. Desmond began her investment career in 1987 as a Pacific Basin investment manager with Shearson Lehman Global Asset Management. She subsequently moved to Hill Samuel Investment Advisers Ltd. where she worked as a senior portfolio manager and Pacific Basin equity analyst. In 1991 she joined Mondrian Investment Partners’ predecessor organization as a founding member. Today she is a Director of the firm and CIO of the firm’s international equity product. She leads the International Equity investment team and chairs the International Equity Strategy Committee. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Ms. Desmond is a trustee of Wellesley College and chairs the endowment investment committee.

Ms. Desmond holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MA in East Asian Studies from Stanford University.  She is a CFA Charterholder and a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of the UK. She sits on the CFA UK’s Advisory Council.
